is a construction or refractory material made primarily from clay (including shale and coal gangue), processed by molding, drying, and firing at 900°C–1400°C.
Key Features
Composition & Structure:
Contains 30%–48% Al₂O₃, with mullite, glass phase, and quartz; weakly acidic.
Standard dimensions: 240 mm × 115 mm × 53 mm (solid brick), ~2.5 kg per piece when dry.
Physical Properties:
Refractoriness: 1580°C–1770°C; load softening point: 1300°C–1400°C; excellent thermal shock resistance (>10 cycles, 1100°C water cooling).
Compressive strength: 30–100 MPa (graded MU10–MU30); water absorption: 8%–10%.
Applications:
Construction: Load-bearing walls (solid/perforated bricks), infill walls (hollow bricks).
Industry: Lining for blast furnaces, hot stoves, glass kilns, and rotary kilns.
