Tabular Alumina is a sintered α-Al₂O₃ material (purity ≥99%) produced by rapid sintering of industrial alumina at ultra-high temperatures (1900–2000°C) without additives. Characterized by fully developed hexagonal plate-like crystals (50–400μm) and a unique microstructure with closed spherical pores, it exhibits low open porosity (4–6%), high bulk density (3.45–3.5 g/cm³), and exceptional properties including:
- Superior thermal shock resistanceand volume stability
- High refractoriness (melting point: 2050°C) and mechanical strength
- Excellent corrosion resistance against acids/alkalis and electrical insulation.
It serves as a critical aggregate in refractories for steelmaking (e.g., ladle linings, sliding gates), ceramics, chemical reactors, and electronic components.
