At present, the homogenization of bauxite is in an era of diverse opinions, with mixed reviews from the outside world. From an objective perspective, the market prospects of homogenized bauxite are beyond doubt. It is understood that China consumes an average of about 100 million tons of high-quality bauxite annually, including 80 million tons in the aluminum industry, 15 million tons in refractory materials, and 5 million tons in ceramics and other industries. Most of the bauxite mining in our country is done through manual beneficiation and grading, with a small scale. 20% to 30% of the crushed ore and low-grade ore are abandoned, resulting in a low resource utilization rate. After more than 30 years of disorderly mining and improper utilization, the contradiction between supply and demand of bauxite resources has become increasingly serious. Homogenized alumina was born in this market context, which not only improves resource utilization but also meets the demand for high-quality alumina in refractory materials.

Why hasn't such a good product been widely used in the refractory market? There are several main reasons: on the one hand, differences in production processes result in uneven product quality. On the other hand, downstream customers lack technology and do not know how to use homogenized alumina to meet their production needs. The last aspect is some negative comments that have brought some adverse effects to the homogenization of bauxite.

At present, most of the homogenization material enterprises in Shanxi are in a semi shutdown state, and there are even fewer homogenization material enterprises in Guizhou. Only some enterprises in Henan are operating normally. The overall performance of the homogenized bauxite market is not ideal.

Although the current market for homogenized materials is not satisfactory, the future market for homogenized materials is very broad. Some companies have begun to actively explore and research, and the results are also very significant. Currently, the application of homogenization materials in products such as iron hook materials and aluminum magnesium carbon bricks is becoming increasingly widespread. Some homogenized alumina enterprises are also constantly improving their after-sales service system to provide corresponding technical support for downstream enterprises. Currently, companies such as Henan Xingya Energy Co., Ltd. and Yima Jintai New Materials Co., Ltd. have corresponding technical services and their own technical teams are conducting various technical research and experiments. They actively communicate with major universities to continuously gain recognition from downstream customers and promote mature technologies to downstream markets through these means.

The majority of the current market production is homogenized alumina with aluminum content around 85 and 80. The former is increasingly used in refractory materials for steelmaking systems, while the latter is more favored in refractory materials for ironmaking systems. Downstream enterprises should not excessively pursue higher aluminum content in the application process of homogenized alumina, and must determine according to actual production needs.
