White Fused Alumina (chemical formula: Al₂O₃≥99%) is a synthetic corundum produced by melting high-purity alumina powder in an electric arc furnace (above 2000°C) followed by controlled cooling. It features high hardness (Mohs 9), moderate toughness, and exceptional purity, with white crystalline structure. Primarily used as an advanced abrasive (e.g., grinding wheels, sandblasting), refractory material (e.g., kiln linings), and in precision casting. Its chemical inertness minimizes reactions with workpieces, making it ideal for precision machining and surface treatment of stainless steel, alloy steel, and other metals.
