The abrasive and grinding tool industry in New China started from scratch, grew from small to large, and after more than half a century of self-reliance and hard work, gradually established a relatively independent and complete system for abrasive and grinding tool research and development, manufacturing, and testing. Especially in the more than ten years after the reform and opening up, it has made rapid progress. In the 1990s, the gap between China's abrasive and grinding tool industry and the world's advanced level was greatly narrowed. However, due to the rapid development of world material technology, mechanical processing technology, and scientific research methods, the foreign abrasive and grinding tool industry developed rapidly at the turn of the century, with new technologies, products, and processes constantly emerging; During this period, China's abrasive and grinding tool industry was in a stage of industrial management system reform, enterprise transformation, and industrial organizational structure adjustment. The original industrial layout was disrupted, and a new market order was being explored and established. The development and technological progress of the industry were temporarily stagnant, causing the already narrowed gap to be rapidly widened.

During the planned economy period, China's abrasive and grinding tool industry was dominated by seven grinding wheel factories under the former Ministry of Machinery Industry, supplemented by local grinding wheel factories under various provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government, forming an abrasive and grinding tool manufacturing system. Now, after 30 years of market testing, resource integration, and mergers and acquisitions during the reform and opening up, the original seven affiliated enterprises, except for Shandong Luxin High tech Industry Co., Ltd. established on the basis of the former Fourth Grinding Wheel Factory, are basically stagnant or operating in great difficulty. The First Grinding Wheel Factory located in Shenyang has already gone bankrupt; The Second Grinding Wheel Factory of China later became a listed company, with the full registered name of "White Pigeon Co., Ltd." It has now been divided into several small enterprises and is facing difficulties in operation; After the merger of the Third Grinding Wheel Factory and the Sixth Grinding Wheel Factory into the Seventh Grinding Wheel Factory, their development problems were not solved, and they were divided and merged several times, which greatly damaged their vitality. The Seventh Grinding Wheel Group also faced bankruptcy, and its production and operation parts have been decomposed into several small enterprises, struggling to operate with resource advantages (mainly electricity prices and raw materials); The Fifth Grinding Wheel Factory mainly produces and manufactures silicon carbon rod products, which are basically no longer within the scope of the abrasive and grinding tool industry.

After the reform and opening up, a large number of private abrasive and grinding tool manufacturing enterprises emerged in China. Although there were also excellent enterprises that promoted industry development and technological progress, a large number of private enterprises relied solely on their flexible operating mechanisms, relying on technical workers "dug" from the original state-owned leading factories to carry out relatively simple low-end product repetitive production and vicious low price competition. As a result, China's abrasive and grinding tool industry is still at a relatively low level overall, with low technical content and added value of products. Even for abrasive products with large export volumes, they often rely on cheap resources and labor advantages to provide cheap raw materials for advanced foreign abrasive and grinding tool manufacturing enterprises. Now, only Luxin High tech relies on great efforts to improve its independent innovation capabilities. After six years of hard work, it has finally emerged from the predicament and has great potential for development.

2. Development trend of abrasive and grinding tool enterprises

Currently, the development direction of the world economy and the regional economic structure are undergoing significant changes. Driven by economic globalization, China's national modernization and the process of world economic integration are accelerating day by day. The overall technological level and national quality of the country are improving, and the comprehensive strength of the country is rapidly increasing. In order to adapt to the opportunities and challenges brought by the integration of the world economy and the expansion of domestic demand, the production enterprises of abrasives and grinding tools in our country have also undergone rapid development in terms of enterprise restructuring, reorganization, reform, transformation, and product structure adjustment, with an increasing degree of internationalization.

In the 60 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, China's abrasive and grinding tool production enterprises have made significant progress, gradually forming a complete product range and a certain comprehensive strength of abrasive and grinding tool production system. At present, the annual production capacity of abrasives and grinding tools in China has reached a considerable scale, and there is overcapacity in most product fields. Generally speaking, over the past half century, China's production of abrasives and grinding tools has made significant progress, but there is still a certain gap compared to international top abrasives and grinding tool advanced enterprises.
